Hello I'm Ginette, I do graphic design, art, illustration and surface pattern design.

Here on my blog you can see the pictures i've been making, stuff I've been up to and the inspiration I found in my current home Whistler, Canada.

You can also view my portfolio for more of my design work, find out about bespoke wedding stationary and take a look at the cards for sale in my shop.

Here is October and November in my calendar of the British Isles. Still finding lovely views and colours even in some very autumnal weather.

October sees some canada geese and boats at Days Lock on the River Thames, with local landmark the Wittenham Clumps in the background. Such a pleasant place for a ramble with Bronza age history and views of South Oxfordshire up on the clumps and a game of Pooh Sticks on the the river.

The November page features Portmeirion in North Wales. It is a glorious, colourful riviera style village in an unexpected place. Built by slightly wacky architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis in the early 20th Century as a tourist desination and a whole lot of fun. I visited a few years ago and it was great, and so much fun to illustrate for my calendar.

It's Christmas card time again! I've designed 2 sets of Chistmas cards this year. The first is a gaggle of santas having a very festive time. The second set is inspired by vintage wrapping paper and packaging for Christmas ornaments, I love looking at all the old fonts and recreating the vintage printing textures.

Each set comes as a pack of 8 with envelopes, both cards and envelopes are made of recycled paper and are packaged in biodegradable plastic sleeves. Go check them out in my shop, along with lots of other fun designs. Proceeds will go towards helping homeless people have a better Christmas.

I took part in the Make It In Design Summer School back in July. It's such a fun community of surface designers with really cool briefs to work on and I came up with loads of new designs and more inspiration than I know what to do with. This brief was called Jungle Luxe, I was looking at old Victorian glasshouses and vintage tropical plant illustrations from intrepid explorers. I had some fun drawing the whole thing in Photoshop and loved the colour palatte that came with the brief. This pattern was chosen as a winner for the Fashion Formula prize, very excited!

I entered the Prior Snow topsheet design contest, to create a design for skis and snowboards.

I drew this 1960s phsychedelic design in Photoshop and had a great time with these halftone brushes. Poster artists at the time broke all the rules of conventional design to reflect the counterculture scene, they combined commercial printing and fine art, and I’m inspired by the highly skilled designs they created without any of the modern technology that I rely on. I also loved working in this style to highlight the social changes and revolutions of the 1960s which are still really relevant.

Here's some more British summertime in the July and August pages of my calendar. The joy of the ice cream van at Glastonbury Tor and a cliff top walk on the Isle of Wight towards Sandown. Time to get reading about ley lines and Avalon and sacred geometry at Glastonbury Tor. I went on a really wonderful family trip to the Isle of Wight last summer so here's some holiday snaps of beach huts and fancy hotels and the like.
