Quaker Wood in Blewbury, Oxfordshire is a community woodland planted in 2024. I designed this signboard with a map and visitor information to welcome people to the green space, even while the trees are still small and 'un-aesthetic'. Simple, silhouetted illustrations of people enjoying and looking after the space convey the welcoming, community spirit even without reading all of the text. The leaf illustrations give visitors a learning opportunity to connect with nature by spotting the different types of tree, and showing the long term vision for the trees to grow up from small saplings.
