A useful, large illustrated river and lake calendar of 12 colourful watery scenes from around the British Isles, inspired by the rich colours and bold shapes of vintage 20th Century travel posters.
Wonderful waterways, bubbling streams and rushing waterfalls, lazy lakeside lounging, the still, reflective river and some glimpses of riverbank wildlife. This outdoors calendar will take you through the seasons in the company of glorious waterside scenes.
Each river and lake illustration has been drawn by Ginette Guiver: i'm an illustrator and graphic designer based near Manchester, and originally from Oxfordshire. These are all watery places in the UK that I've visited and explored to provide inspiration for these uplifting, nature landscapes. I love the aspirational and idyllic scenes in vintage travel posters, that encourage us to go outdoors and feel the benefits of spending time in blue spaces. The pictures in this calendar are a reminder of the joy of looking out at some water at any time of year.
A great present for swimmers or toe dippers, walkers, paddlers, boaters, fishing folk, and anyone who enjoys going down to the water to look awhile.
Waterside locations include the River Thames in Oxfordshire, Loch Coruisk on the Isle of Skye, Ritson's Force in Wasdale, the Lake District, Roughting Linn falls in Northumberland, Ingleton Falls, waterfalls and rivers in Snowdonia, Lancashire and Somerset among other places!
